BSNL has made a couple of changes to its long-term prepaid plans of Rs 1,999 (PV 1,999) and Rs 2,399 (PV 2,399). While the PV 1,999 is getting an extra validity of 21 days, the PV 2,399 is getting a massive validity reduction. BSNL is increasing the validity of PV 1,999 on the occasion of 72nd Republic Day and Pongal festival. The PV 1,999 usually offers 365 days of validity, but the company is adding another 21 days validity taking the overall validity to 386 days....

The government-owned Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has several prepaid plans with attractive benefits, call minutes and validity. Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) wants the government to allot it spectrum worth Rs 61,000 crore in several frequency bands. The state-run telco is seeking airwaves in the 700 MHz band and mid-band for both 4G and 5G. BSNL is yet to launch 4G or 5G in the country. On Wednesday, the Union Cabinet approved the Universal Service Obligation Fund (USOF) scheme to provision 4G-based mobile services in villages that are uncovered in aspirational districts in five states, including Odisha, Maharashtra, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, and Andhra Pradesh. This new project seeks to offer mobile services in as many as 7,287 uncovered villages of 44 aspirational districts in the states mentioned above. In order to create the first 5G experience centre in North America, Cognizant, a provider of IT services, is extending its partnership with Qualcomm, the developer of chips, to open the centre in Atlanta.
