Xiaomi Redmi K30: What We Know So Far? Xiaomi’s Redmi K30 may be launched sometime early next year and it will not be the affordable 5G smartphone to launch. However, Redmi has officially confirmed it would not be the affordable 5G smartphone to purchase when it launches. Right now, we don’t have any specifications of the Redmi K30, but the company officially revealed an early look of the smartphone at an event in China. Going by those revealed images, the Redmi K30 will feature dual selfie cameras and dual punch-hole cutout which looks pretty much identical to the Samsung Galaxy S10+. Also, it will be the first phone from Xiaomi/Redmi to feature a punch-hole display. This year, almost all the smartphone brands went with the pop-up selfie camera tech to offer full-screen experience. But in 2020, it seems like the punch-hole display tech will make a comeback as the OnePlus 8 is also expected to come with the same technology. As mentioned above, the Redmi K30 will have 5G support and it will be the first phone under the company’s ‘Redmi 5G’ project. Redmi General Manager also confirmed the Redmi K30 would have dual-5G support, meaning the phone will work with both Standalone Mode (SA) and the Non-Standalone (NSA) networks to easily latch onto the 4G network where the 5G connectivity is not available. Xiaomi Redmi K30: Expected Specifications The Redmi K30 will come as a successor to the Redmi K20 and we may see the Redmi K30 Pro launching alongside the Redmi K30 in 2020. As for the processor, Redmi may go with a successor of Snapdragon 730 SoC for the Redmi K30. Going by the rumours, the Redmi K30 will be powered by Qualcomm 7250 chipset- details of which are unknown at the moment. The phone may arrive in multiple storage variants with the storage going up to 128GB and RAM going all the way up to 8GB. We may see the brand opting for a new design, besides the punch-hole display the company teased today. These early images of the Redmi K30 were posted on Chinese microblogging website Weibo. Redmi may upgrade the cameras as well on the Redmi K30. The Redmi K20 and K20 Pro featured triple camera setup on the back along with a single front-facing camera. In other news, the Redmi 20 is now available at Rs 19,999 and the Redmi K20 Pro is retailing starting at Rs 24,999, as part of the company’s Diwali festival sale. The Redmi K30 series will reach the Indian market, but they may not pack 5G support, after all.
